Studio services

Editorial brew-lab services

Commission method reviews, ratio consulting, and training documentation from our Queen West editorial studio. We serve roasters, barista educators, and hospitality groups — not consumer food delivery.

What we offer

Measured extraction for professional audiences

Single Origin Co. delivers editorial services grounded in the same brew-lab protocols that power our public method reviews. Whether you need a private V60 dial-in for a menu launch, a comparative immersion study for training materials, or co-branded ratio cards for wholesale partners, our team documents every variable — dose, yield, TDS, extraction percentage, grind reference, and sensory descriptors — in reproducible PDF and spreadsheet formats.

Services are scoped during an initial consultation at [email protected]. Turnaround depends on sample volume and whether roasting must occur in-studio versus client-supplied reference lots. We do not provide generic café consulting unrelated to brewing methodology, nor do we operate pop-up food service or beverage delivery.

Method review commissions

Full editorial review of a brewing device or technique using your specified single origin roast. Includes baseline dial-in, variance pass, blind sensory panel, and published-style ratio card with attribution options for internal or external use.

Brew ratio consulting

Targeted ratio and timing adjustments for existing menus — filter, immersion, pressure, or cold lanes. We map extraction yield against your roast development curve and water chemistry report.

Training sheet packages

Workshop-ready documentation with diagrams, step sequences, and troubleshooting notes for barista trainers. Materials reference Canadian English conventions and metric measurements.

Sensory documentation

Calibrated cupping and in-method tasting notes aligned with our editorial rubric. Useful for aligning wholesale decks, importers' tech sheets, and internal quality programmes.

How engagements work

After your enquiry, we confirm scope, sample requirements, and timeline — typically two to four weeks for a single-method commission. Samples must arrive labelled with roast date, development notes, and intended service context. Our brew-lab logs every trial in a shared changelog you receive at project close.

On-site sessions at 883 Queen Street West, Unit 204, are available by appointment Mon–Fri 09:00–17:00 ET. Remote review is possible when clients ship reference roasts and accept that equipment variance will be noted in the final report.
